Gli abitanti della Striscia di Gaza nella notte hanno ricevuto sui loro telefoni un avvertimento da parte dell’esercito israeliano per l’evacuazione di tutta la zona nord e centrale della Striscia entro le 14 ora locale del 13 ottobre.

Anche le Nazioni Unite hanno ricevuto la stessa comunicazione per la messa in sicurezza di tutto il loro staff e strutture, comprese scuole ed ospedali.
L’area è sotto incessanti bombardamenti da cinque giorni, le strade sono distrutte. A Gaza non esiste un luogo sicuro. Non c’è elettricità né benzina.

Questa richiesta da parte di Israele è irragionevole, non è possibile spostare oltre un milione di persone in poche ore. Sostenere le ragioni di questa decisione oggi significa lasciare indietro civili innocenti che hanno diritto ad essere protetti, inclusi i più vulnerabili tra cui anziani, sfollati, degenti, e centinaia di migliaia di bambini.

Ci uniamo quindi alla richiesta del Segretario generale ONU al sottosegretario Blinken che si trova in Medio Oriente, alla Presidente UE Von Der Leyen, la cui visita in Israele è prevista per oggi 13 ottobre, di bloccare l’operazione annunciata da Israele prima che gli scenari prospettati dagli esponenti del suo Governo, a partire dal Primo Ministro, diventino realtà.

Urgent – From Gaza – Evacuation warning North and Center of the Strip 

Overnight, residents of the Gaza Strip received a warning on their phones from the Israeli army to evacuate the entire northern and central area of the Strip by 2PM local time on October 13. 

The United Nations also received the same communication to evacuate all their staff and facilities including schools and hospitals. 

The area has been under incessant bombing for five consecutive days, and roads are destroyed. There is no safe place in Gaza. There is no electricity or fuel. 

This request is unreasonable, it is not possible to move over a million people in a few hours. 

Any decision in this situation risks making us all complicit in war crimes because it means leaving behind innocent civilians who have the right to be protected, including the most vulnerable, such as the elderly, internally displaced persons, sick people, and hundreds of thousands of children. 

We urge you to do everything in your power to stop Israel, before the bloody scenarios envisaged by the representatives of its Government, starting from the Prime Minister, become reality and the civilian population of the Gaza Strip once again pays the price for his clear intent of revenge.
