“Thank you, and thank you again!” These were the words that welcomed us from the 70 displaced families hosted at the Mousaytbeh school in Beirut, one of the many shelters opened for those who have lost their homes and safety since the beginning of March. And these are the words we want to pass on to each and every one of you who supported our #EmergenzaLibano fundraising campaign.

Standing by those who need it most, supporting those who are suffering the consequences of external decisions that destroy lives and communities, is an immense act of solidarity.

The military escalation is hitting Lebanon hard, a country already marked by years of economic crisis, political instability, and social tensions. Since the early hours of 2 March 2026, the Beqaa Valley, southern Lebanon, and the southern suburbs of Beirut have faced a further intensification of Israeli bombardments, which have been striking the region continuously since 2024. Hundreds of villages have received evacuation orders, more than 1.5 million people have been forced to leave their homes, and hundreds of temporary shelters have been activated, often in schools or public facilities. More than 1,000 people have lost their lives and over 3,000 have been injured. The cinemas and theatres of the Tiro Association for Arts, our long-standing partner, have also been transformed into shelters for those who have lost everything: in the coming weeks, together we will distribute food and hygiene supplies in these spaces in Tyre, Beirut, and Tripoli to more than 45 displaced families.

In recent weeks, we have been able to reach dozens of displaced families: together with Nahnoo, a Lebanese organisation, we distributed blankets and baby creams, powdered milk, diapers, and hygiene materials, both for families and for cleaning the spaces temporarily hosting them. Everyday items that, in an emergency, become essential to ensure dignity, care, and first assistance. We also supported Tiro Arts in transforming their cultural spaces into safe shelters, offering protection and a measure of peace of mind to those who have lost their homes and security.

Every act of solidarity, big or small, can make a difference.

Our work does not stop here. The fundraising campaign in support of the civilian population continues. Every gesture is vital: your voice can multiply the impact of our intervention and help us reach those who are still in need.
