The first cycle of soft skills training for the FORMER project in the Siliana governorate in Tunisia has concluded with positive results. This intervention involved 80 young people, mostly women, with the aim of strengthening employability and supporting job placement paths in rural contexts often excluded from major economic opportunities.
Activities took place in various locations across the territory, bringing training directly into the communities. This was a significant choice that contributes to reducing territorial inequalities and promoting more equitable access to opportunities, especially for young women.
During four days of training, participants developed fundamental transversal skills: effective communication, self-confidence, teamwork, creativity, innovation, and negotiation techniques. These represent increasingly central tools for navigating an evolving labor market and building autonomous and sustainable professional paths.
The training sessions were conducted by ARCS Tunisie, with the support of ANETI and under the supervision of the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Formation Professionnelle.
These initial activities represent a concrete step toward greater opportunities for youth in rural areas, promoting employment, self-employment, and sustainable development. Investing in skills means not only training individuals but also strengthening entire communities and building more equitable future prospects.
The FORMER project (Training and Orientation for the Strengthening of Professions and Employment in Rural Environments) is funded by Italian cooperation and implemented by a consortium led by Tamat Tunisie, alongside partners such as Terre des Hommes Italia, ARCS Culture Solidali, and Helpcode.
