Access to health information is a right that should not depend on one’s place of birth or economic circumstances. This principle underpins the first awareness-raising campaign of the PASS Project, carried out by Caritas Jordan at its centres in Amman, Madaba and Balqa.

The sessions, conducted with the support of medical staff, offered Jordanian citizens and vulnerable Iraqi refugees a tangible opportunity: to receive accurate information on the prevention of high blood pressure and chronic diseases, to undergo basic health checks and to access dedicated educational materials.

The PASS Project — Peace, Community Assistance, Economic Development and Social Solidarity — is aimed in particular at the Iraqi Christian minority in Jordan, who live in conditions of extreme vulnerability: the inability to obtain regular work permits compromises their access to essential services, including healthcare. Alongside them, the project also involves the host Jordanian communities, with the aim of promoting peaceful coexistence and interfaith dialogue, building a more inclusive society for all.

Receiving healthcare is not just about treating an illness: it means being able to see a doctor, understanding one’s rights, and asking for help without fear. This is the vision that guides the PASS Project — a programme that supports entire families, from the youngest to the oldest, towards greater independence and well-being, well beyond the end of the project.
