An efficient management of water resources is a fundamental objective for most of the country in the Mediterranean area, where the lack of water has important consequences at social, economic and ecological levels, with direct consequences also on peace and on food safety. For this reason, in may 2014, the WATER DROP (Water Development Resources Opportunity Policies for the water management in semi-arid areas), started with the objective of developing a common approach to manage in a more efficient way water resources in the Mediterranean area, improving their use and their availability for the citizens.
